Arizona Bridge to Independent Living (ABIL)
Programs include information and referral, peer support, home modifications, independent living skills instruction, personal/home health assistance, Americans with Disabilities Act Training & Compliance surveys, surveys, social security benefits counseling and employment services, consumer advocacy, and a variety of other community integration and transitional services.
 

Arizona Center For Disability Law
Not for profit public interest law firm, works to protect the rights of individuals with a wide range of physical, mental, psychiatric, sensory and cognitive disabilities.  Provides information, training, legal advice, and publications.
 

Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System
There are several AHCCCS programs available for children under 19: AHCCCS Care, KidsCare, SOBRA for Children, and Arizona Long Term Care. Young Adult Transitional Insurance aids young adults under the age of 21.
 

Arizona Promising Practices

Enhancing Arizona's Parent Networks (EAPN)
Provides information, support, and training for parents and professionals of children with special needs.
 

Kids Care
Kids Care offers low or no cost medical, dental, and vision care for children ages 18 and younger.  The child must live in AZ and be a US citizen or an eligible qualified immigrant.  There are other requirements including an income limit for the family.
 

Kids Voting Arizona
Provides informatin and training in order to create lifelong voting habits in children and to increase adult voter turnout and fight voter apathy.
 

Parent Information Network (PINS) / Partners Are Liaisons to Schools (PALS)
Provide on-site and phone consultation, training, resources, information and referrals to help support parents of special education students.  Also assist educators and service providers to meet the needs of parents.
 

Pilot Parents of Arizona
Provide information and training about disabilities, parent and children's rights under IDEA and other relevant laws, and resources in the community, state, and nation.
 

Raising Special Kids
Provide information, training, resources, and support to families of children with disabilities and special health care needs in Arizona. Special Education services include individual IEP/504 consultation for families and training and consultation for schools, teachers and other professionals. Assistance in health care systems navigation includes guiding families to appropriate resources and supports in the community.
 

Social Security Income Benefits
There are two Social Security disability programs that include disabled children:  Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). Helpful links to on-line forms and steps to apply for childhook disability benefits.
